41' Fitz - Remodel
01/06/09 - New to the "family", this 41' Fitz arrived over the holiday. She has some non structural hurricane damage, and the new owner thought that it was a great time for a remodel. We plan to repaint her, install new engines, new windows, new electronics.... well you get the idea! Keep checking back for updates. This week we guide coated the hull and we are sanding it out, preparing for new topcoat. We also removed the windows and we are going to install some sliders. As you can see it has no back bulkhead; that will remain out. If you can see, we have removed all of the miscellaneous thru hulls, plugged, and glassed them.

01/15/09 - We have made good progress this week. We sanded the hull down, re-primed, and are in the process of sanding the primer and preparing for topcoat. We are also installing new shaft tubes with the purpose of putting in an intermediate bearing. We also sanded out the engine room and sprayed some topcoat. In the salon area we added a couple of structural members and side sealings. We also built a beam in the back of the cabin area since we are not going to have a back bulkhead.

01/23/09 – Hull painted Fighting Lady Yellow – and looks good. We have also finished the engine room paint and placed the sound insulation in the overhead. We are currently preparing the house and bow deck for paint.
